Highland Tour Guide Private Outlander Tours

The Outlander series is based in the Highlands of Scotland and Inverness in particular join us on a tour of the places mentioned in the book series Outlander.

The Starz company launched Outlander as a T.V. series in 2014 interpreting the books of Diana Gabaldon with an initial eight shows and continued with another eight in 2015.

This Private Inverness Outlander Day Tour visits the places from the Outlander books written by Diana Gabaldon bringing to life Murtagh, Gellis Duncan, Ned Gowan, Dougal and Collom MacKenzie visiting some places known only to Highland Tour Guide. 

The tour is conducted in Full Highland Dress and with a Jacobite weapons demonstration to authenticate the day.

Places seen are Craig Na Dun, Culloden Battlefield and the Fraser stones, a Rent house, a Fairie Hill, Beauly Priory, Loch Ness and Cockanamon.

The Inverness Outlander Day Two takes us out to the west passing Dundreggan and to the Brochs of Glen Elg are visited, viewing a building which would be perfect for Ardsmuir and with lunch at a Highland Drovers Type Inn. The tour finds the church of St Kilda and offers a visit to Eilean Donan Castle destroyed during the 1719 Uprising. Travel back to Inverness passes Loch Garve where the Kelpie lurks.

Three and four day tours are available taking in the Inn and Black Houses shown in the rent run and Fort William where Black Jack Randall imprisoned Claire.

Finally there is the film locations this shows Inverness 1947, Cranesmuir, Wentworth Prison and Castle Leoch. This tour is run either from or to Inverness/Edinburgh or Glasgow as part of a transfer or longer tour.
